OUR STORY

From the tram stop to catch it

How a student’s frustration with tram schedules turned into a company.

Chapter 1

It all started at home

I moved into my first apartment as a student — right in Vienna’s 8th district, surrounded by trams and buses everywhere. They were supposed to come every 4 minutes, but somehow I always ended up standing at the stop, freezing, staring at the display… and waiting.

The first display

So I built a small display that showed me when my trams were actually coming. My best friend Julius saw it and said: ‘Dude, I’m designing a housing for this.’ A few weeks later it looked amazing. We gave them to friends and family — and suddenly everyone was asking: ‘Can I buy one?’

Chapter 3

The first 3D printer

We saved up forever for a proper 3D printer and somehow managed to produce 100 units — with our own packaging, our own shop, the whole thing. At TU Wien, where Julius and I study, our classmates couldn’t believe it: ‘Why don’t you have an Instagram?!’ Good question, honestly.

The hype

Then things went crazy — newspapers wrote about us, people shared it everywhere, and we realized: wow, there are SO many people who want this. Our kitchen table became a production line. For weeks the apartment was full of 3D printers running 24/7. At some point we looked at each other and said: we need an office.

Chapter 5

From straba to catch it

After Christmas 2025, Julius and I sat down and said: let’s put everything we’ve learned into this. New product, new name, bigger vision. We’re not just Vienna anymore — we’re connecting cities across Europe. ‘straba’ (from Straßenbahn) became catch it. And honestly? This is just the beginning.
